Versailles Treaty
The Versailles Treaty was a pact written up by the Entente and forciably signed by the Germans as a means to cease combat on all fronts. In it, the Germans were made the scape-goats and forced to pay reparations for the war. In total, it ended up costing the Germans over $3 Billion. This war debt would not be paid off until 2010. It also limited the German army to 100,000 troops for its internal security and no ability to make weapons of war.
