The 28th President of the United States, he was originally against joining the war in Europe even running a second term with the slogan, “He Kept Us Out Of The War.” He was a major proponent to the Progressive Movement and passed many reforms for this. Many of the reforms he passed are still with us today. Of these reforms are the Federal Reserve Act, Social Security as well as Income Tax. Originally determined to maintain a passive stance on the war in Europe, after the Zimmerman telegram came to light that he realized he needed to take us to war. He would request a declaration of war from Congress and recieve it immediately. Prior to the Armistice in 1918, Wilson drafted what he termed the "14 Points." This invariably was fourteen seperate ideas that would bring about change within the world stage in his eyes. Unfortunately, the other members of the Entente scrapped all but one of these items, the League of Nations.
